IndraSoft, Inc. is seeking a Fingerprinting Technician/General Clerk to join our dynamic team.  This position will assist with the undertaking of Providence, Rhode Island Census Enumeration Exercise from February 20, 2018 to March 18, 2018.  The Census results will provide bench-mark socio-demographic to all administrative levels necessary for general administration and planning process.  The Fingerprinting Technician/General Clerk will be responsible for setting core and axis fingerprint images, compares fingerprint images for making identification and verification of identification. He/she will perform duties related to automated and manual processing of fingerprint submissions, utilizing fingerprint readers, verification on-line terminal and fingerprint input monitor.   

 Qualifications Required:

  • Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent of a high school diploma, plus one year working experience.

  • Fingerprint concepts and terminology, equipment functions and terminology and/or ability to receive training.

  • Ability to visually compare fingerprints.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Flexibility to deal with changing work environment and problem solve with issues related to fingerprints and identification.

  • Follow oral and written instructions, gain and maintain productive working relationships.

  • Able to work under minimal supervision.

  • Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to

  • Census Public Trust Clearance and/or ability to obtain clearance.

  • Strong English language skills (both written and verbal). 

Qualifications Desired: 

  • Prior Census fingerprinting experience.

  • Census Public Trust Clearance. 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Take fingerprints of individuals.

  • Operate fingerprint reader/document imaging equipment to create electronic files, using provided software.

  • Prepares fingerprinting documents for scanning, scans documents and verifies quality of digital images.

  • Set core and axis of fingerprint images, compares fingerprint images for making identification and verification of identification.

  • Enter data into computer as appropriate.

  • Performs duties related to automated or manual processing of fingerprint submissions

  • Troubleshoots and adjusts equipment when necessary.

  • Maintain production area in a neat and orderly condition.

  • Performs related responsibilities as required or assigned by the Supervisor. 

Non-Essential Functions: 

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Physical Demands: 

While performing duties of the job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.  Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.

Work Environment:  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
