BASIC JOB DESCRIPTION

The candidate shall provide Law Enforcement action officer support to the Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence (USD(I))’s, Counterintelligence & Security (CI&S) Directorate. Candidate will support the review, analysis, development and implementation of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service Multiple Threat Alert Center function for the DoD in managing known or suspected terrorist encounter information, to include Identity Matching Engine for Security and Analysis (IMESA). The ideal candidate will conduct organized analytical assessments and evaluations to understand and/or evaluate moderately complex issues to inform decision-making, policy development, system development, management, or administration of client processes.

SPECIFIC JOB DESCRIPTION

Individual who possesses counterintelligence and security policy skills and knowledge, along with relevant operational expertise and experience to support USD(I)’s objectives, the Counterintelligence & Security (CI&S) Directorate.   

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


  • Advanced degree in a discipline relevant to the position plus at least 2 years of relevant professional experience; or bachelor’s degree plus at least 5 years’ relevant professional experience.

  • 10 years of demonstrated experience in DoD, Military Department or counterterrorism matters.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE



  • Provide senior level advice and subject matter expertise to support recommendations to support the DoD physical security program, personnel security program, insider threat program and maintenance of law and order on DoD installations.


  • Demonstrated ability to digest large volumes of complicated data, conduct detailed process mapping and communicate and formally document findings and recommendations.


  • Ability to access a web application (such as the Identity Matching Engine for Security and Analysis (IMESA)) to review and recommend action on the Terrorist Screening Database Alerts and determine if the alert will be pushed to the appropriate law enforcement agency. IMESA experience desired


  • Attend meetings as required and prepare meeting summary reports.


  • Prepare and provide regular written and verbal updates to MTAC leadership.


  • Available to work various shifts in a 24/7 Watch Center
