Required Skills & Qualifications:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree preferred in neuroscience, molecular biology, genetics or related biomedical field with experience in histology and quantitative morphological analysis of animal models of neurodegenerative or lysosomal diseases. The position may be suitable for a newly qualified postdoctoral candidate who just obtained a PhD in one of these subject areas.
Must have experience in tissue processing and histology; immunostaining; unbiased quantitative morphometric analysis of pathological changes. Ability to prepare presentations, posters and manuscripts. Knowledge using spreadsheets and databases are required along with organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills necessary.
Description of Duties:
• Perform laboratory work; histological processing; immunostaining; unbiased quantitative morphometric analysis of pathological changes;
• Analyze data, create and give presentations, abstracts, posters and manuscripts
• Supervise and educate staff and students, including those from other research groups
• Administrative duties such as correspondence, fellowship-related documentation, purchasing of reagents, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
