Job Description: Description: Coordinates the Warehouse and Logistics operations by: 1) managing relationships with key logistics suppliers in the moving and storage, courier, fleet, record retention, and small package spaces; 2) establishing courier routes and schedules; 3) managing the physical relocation of equipment and furniture during department or facility moves; 4) analyzing performance data to reduce spend and identify cost reduction opportunities.
Manages and builds relationships with the contracted vendors in areas of moving and storage, courier services, fleet, record retention, and small package delivery.
Coordinates and supervises all human and materials-handling resources involved in the physical relocation of equipment and furniture during department or facility moves. Meets or communicates with departments as necessary to assist them in planning their move. Ensures movers and required resources are scheduled and ready to begin at their appointed time. Facilitates the move by providing information, consulting, or other indirect assistance as necessary to accomplish the move within the agreed schedule. Coordinates with the Operations Manager to schedule Warehouse staff to complete the move in accordance with departmental guidelines.
Meets with customers to assist them with defining their requirements and meeting special needs within all areas of responsibility. Manages and completes special projects within the Logistics and Warehouse function.
Establishes courier routes and schedules to meet the MAS Region facilities' requirements. Utilizes applicable logistics and transportation models to analyze and plan courier routes to save time and resources. Design and implement surveillance systems to monitor courier services to ensure compliance with route order and timing, reduce variability and to ensure service standards and being met or exceeded.
Establishes and provides adhoc, daily, and monthly performance reports to Materials Management Department management team in accordance with established criteria.
Develops policies, procedures, and training protocols in conjunction with the Operations Manager. Conducts training as necessary.
Serves as the Warehouse and Logistics function liaison with the Employee health and Safety Department and ensures compliance with all applicable policies and procedures.
Provides coverage in the absence of the Operations Manager.
Assists with the movement of Kaiser vehicles to include the mobile bone density scanner. May also complete routes or in-demand jobs under urgent or emergent circumstances. Manages and maintains the warehouse fleet vehicles.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a materials management/supply chain environment.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in supplier relationship management and supplier business review processes. Education
Associate's degree in business, computer science or related field, OR two (2) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration
Motor vehicle operator's license required.
Demonstrated experience with email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and Internet Explorer required.
Ability to learn and master the use of an automated dispatch system and other operations management software products (i.e. KRONOS, materials management information systems) required.
Experience in a multi-facility health care environment is required.
Ability to be assigned work or be on-call twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week required.
Knowledge of the major roadways and traffic patterns throughout the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area required.
Demonstrated ability to manage time and perform multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure while affording top priority to business critical issues and agreements required.
Strong relationship management skills with the ability to gain buy-in from employees not directly under his/her span of control required.
Strong leadership abilities coupled with excellent interpersonal skills required.
Conscientious attitude with an attention to detail required.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical and report writing skills required.
