Job Description: Description: Under general supervision, conducts non-invasive vascular studies, prepares and interprets test results, maintains test equipment and vascular surgical database.
Upholds Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities and applicable state, federal and local laws.
Performs vascular studies on patients with arterial, venous, carotid, and other vascular problems, both in the clinical vascular laboratory and when necessary in the hospital and Emergency Dept.
Determines if disease is present from this evaluation.
Performs the Doppler exam and utilizes various ultrasound equipment for testing.
Performs Physiologic lower and upper extremity arterial exams.
Performs TcPo2 studies.
Performs Transcranial doppler evaluations.
Performs various office functions including scheduling patients, maintaining equipment, preparing correspondence and ordering supplies.
Coordinates monthly vascular conference.
Ensures that work area is clean, stocked and orderly; maintains adequate records.
Performs other duties, as required.
Assume other activities and responsibilities from time to time as directed.
Basic Qualifications: Experience
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
Graduate of an accredited vascular technology program.
BLS must be obtained during probationary period.
Graduate of a Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited programs. License, Certification, Registration
Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS-two (2) year program) registration or registry-eligible.
Two (2) years of experience in providing direct patient care for in-patient and out-patient vascular studies; If not already certified, must pass specialized certification within one (1) year.
Experience using the following equipment - SIEMENS Sequoia ultrasound, PHILIPS Parks ultrasound, Zonare portable ultrasound.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Strong computer skills.
50% travel, includes weekend & holiday call coverage, and ALL San Diego Vascular Lab locations.
