DEA & STATE LICENSING INTERN
Analyze and Investigate customer compliance to ensure compliance to DEA, and state licensing BOPs. This will includes: interpreting federal and local regulations and providing regulatory support to help gain efficiencies in the 222 review and approval process as well as the suspicious order monitoring system. Will help provide regulatory solutions to both internal and external customers and is accountable for developing and implementing processes, practices and procedures and maintaining and submitting documentation and communication to regulatory agencies.
Assist the 222 centralized Regulatory team regarding CS orders and ensure that all DEA and state regulations are meet before orders are processed and released. Assist with projects such as control substance returns, customers inquires, and request regarding order history and/or questions. Works closely with Regulatory team to identify root causes of CS backorders and provides recommendations for improvement. Assists in development of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for process.
Work closely with the Suspicious Order Monitoring team to identify any customer suspicious orders of controlled substances. Suspicious orders include orders of unusual size, orders deviating substantially from a normal pattern, and orders of unusual frequency.
Works closely with the DEA Regulatory Manager to update Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Audit and monitor HSAH databases to ensure that all appropriate licensing for HSAH customers are on file, up-to date, not expired and are compliant to all federal and state regulations so that prescription, medical devices, vaccines and CS orders can be placed and processed
High school diploma or equivalent required
Must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary program
Strong PC skills with proficiency using Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Outlook e-mail.
Good analytical, problem-solving, time management, organization, and negotiation skills.
Good oral and written communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent internal and external customer service as well as the ability to operate as a team member.
Strong computer typing skills.
Able to work independently with limited supervision.
Able to meet timelines
