Columbia Winery in Sunnyside is looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our growing winery! This position will provides mechanical maintenance/repair support for coastal winery operations.  

What You Will Do:


  • Participates in machinery trouble-shooting; documents repairs made.

  • Replaces or repairs defective parts.

  • Reassembles equipment and tests for conformance to specifications.

  • Works on assigned projects; responds to emergency maintenance calls.

  • Disassembles malfunctioning equipment; examines and tests mechanisms on large and small pieces of machinery.

  • Inspects and calibrates instruments.

  • Tests equipment and adjusts calibration to ensure equipment is functioning within specified standards.

  • Interprets technical documents (prints, manuals) as required.

  • Maintains constructive cross-functional relationships.

  • Searches for and executes against continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Performs work in a quality fashion.

  • Performs basic electrical installation; installs wiring and conduit safely in compliance with company, state, & federal regulations.

  • Performs basic plumbing and piping operations.

  • Operates machining tools and drill presses; performs basic welding operations.

  • Services pumps and drive system components.

  • Troubleshoots basic alarms related to key winery systems.

  • Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for barrel processing equipment, bottling line equipment, and filtration equipment.

  • Provides preventative maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting services for destemmers, presses, and crush pits.

  • Maintains shop machines, tools and facilities.

  • Promotes occupational safety standards; gives others feedback on their safety performance.

  • Follows shop safety practices and shop housekeeping practices.

  • Operates electrical test equipment, hand tools, and power tools safely.

  • Provides general facility maintenance and servicing for other departments.

What You Will Need:


  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

  • Associates degree/2-year Technical Degree in Mechanical Maintenance and Repair plus 2 years of mechanical maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR 4 years of mechanical maintenance experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing/production environment.

  • Valid driver’s license and successful completion of background check. Required to obtain a Washington driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.

  • Required to conduct work at extreme heights.

  • Required to lift and carry equipment that weighs up-to 60 pounds.

  • Required to provide own tools.
