Describe the key responsibilities of this position in order of importance. Statements should be concise and action- oriented. Performs complex accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts 2. Verifies accuracy of journal entries, account balances and accounting classifications within various reports. Assures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable regulatory requirements, professional standards and internal policies and procedures 3. Responsible for coordinating the month end general ledger closing process 4. Prepares analytical review of financial statements during closing process 5. Field questions concerning financial results 6. Follow up on accounting/system issues that affect the company and recommend improvements to work flow and systems to management 7. Ensures integrity of financial statements. Ensures financial statement compliance with GAAP, company policies , accounting control procedures and governmental requirements 8. Assists and provides support with annual external audit and budget processes 9. Works closely with CAO and Controller to maintain accounting system, implementing changes in data flow and reporting structure 10. Assist other accountants in research of issues that require advanced accounting or system knowledge
