The Role:

The Android Developer brings to life the software needs of our clients and the creative visions of our Design team. As a Developer at Vectorform, you are part of an elite team of visionaries who strive to continually build and rebuild the bridge between human and digital interaction.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Build custom Android applications from the ground up, as well as implementing new features, fixing bugs, and improving performance

  • Assist in ideating innovative ways to simplify solutions to maximize usability, efficiency, and satisfaction of clients

  • Attend, participate, and interface in design reviews and client meetings when necessary

  • Continuously promote the investigation and reporting of available frameworks, and off-the-shelf solutions that will maximize development efficiency

  • Meet project deadlines as indicted in a project plan

  • Work with Account Managers to assess project requirements, explore technical dependencies and provide hours' estimates for deliverable fulfillment

  • Use creative problem solving skills to work in a fast paced, collaborative, and interactive programming environment

  • Effectively interact with Project Managers and other organizational units such as QA and Designers

  • Continuously promote the investigation and reporting of available frameworks, and off-the-shelf solutions that will maximize development efficiency

  • Facilitate ideas and knowledge sharing between Development Team members

  • Work independently on projects or work effectively as part of a project team

  • Focus on the six general precepts of Vectorform Development

What's Necessary:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

  • Understanding of Java, Android, and Object-Oriented development experience

  • Operative knowledge of the Android SDK and related documentation

  • Ability to work in a face paced, collaborative, and interactive programming environment

  • Passion for working with cutting-edge technologies

  • Strong attention to detail and accurately implement custom designs that scale to any screen size

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

Icing on the Cake:

  • Familiarity with Android Studio/Gradle development stack

  • Open GL ES Experience

  • Extensive experience with consuming REST services via JSO

  • Knowledge of SSL/TLS Protocols and certificates

  • Familiarity with 3rd party libraries like Retrofit, RxJava, and Dagger

  • Exposure to the Android Wear and/or Glass development kits

  • Experience in publishing an Android app to Google Play

  • Familiarity with the major mobile platforms

  • Experience with Jira/Confluence
