Job Description:

The MRDS Business Development Manager, East Coast, sells MRDS research services and technology to Biotech, Pharmaceutical companies and Academic centers. Identify and develop strategic opportunities for MRDS clinical trial research pathology services with the focus of companion diagnostics, device and molecular capabilities utilizing Miraca Life Science as a Central Lab partner. Analyze business opportunities and develop strategic sales plans for East Coast Region. 

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients.

  • Negotiate research contracts, which must be approved by Dir. Product/Strategy (MRDS, Legal and Research Operations.

  • Advises Dir. Product/Strategy and MRDS Team on relevant client or market concerns.

  • Provides necessary and appropriate MRDS capabilities presentations to accounts, utilizing each opportunity to discover and pursue additional business.

  • Establish and maintain open lines of communication with External Clinical Research Coordinators and Internal Project Managers to support all functions of MRDS research services, operations and regulatory guidelines.

  • Demonstrates "Core" level knowledge of anatomical pathology, technology solutions and competitive strategies through the use of company resources, on the job training, in house literature, marketing material, and sales brochures.



  • BA/BS required: Scientific degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience calling on Pharma, Biotech companies and Academic centers.

  • 75% Travel.

  • Must demonstrate a knowledge of GLP, GCP, CAP, and CLIA regulations and guidelines.

  • Meet all assigned targets and goals set by management.

  • Experienced self-starter and expert in initiating and negotiating the promotion and expertise of MLS research pathology services at a strategic commercial level.

  • Strong understanding of research trials across all stages of development, regulatory environment and industry trends in research.

  • Ability to identify commercial partners to leverage MLS innovative strategies.

  • A strong record of sales success within research driven services; central lab, clinical research organization and/or diagnostic/device.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent interpersonal , communication and self-motivation skills.
