Job Description: Description: Assists the Manager of Lab Instrumentation Services in managing the operations of the medical laboratory equipment service/repair/maintenance program serving all medical laboratories in Southern California.
On a region-wide basis schedules and supervises staff; evaluates staff's performance against qualitative and quantitative performance measures.
Identifies and implements appropriate improvements in processes, procedures and utilization of resources.
Assists Manager in monitoring service/maintenance/repair costs and performance quality.
Develops, implements and evaluates/improves operational processes and systems.
Schedules preventive maintenance.
Provides technical consultation to staff and laboratories on instrumentation problems.
Ensures that lab instruments/equipment meet or exceed all regulatory and other established requirements.
Assists the Manager in service planning: in-house versus vendors provision of services; when to replace equipment; purchase of supplies, parts and equipment recommended for maintenance of instruments; comparative cost evaluation studies and recommendations regarding new technology and brand/model of lab instruments best meeting service requirements.

Basic Qualifications: Experience
Minimum four (4) years of field service experience in medical and/or laboratory equipment service (such as electronics, chemistry, hydraulics, pneumatics).
Minimum one (1) year of demonstrated leadership experience in lab operations environment. Education
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required. License, Certification, Registration
Knowledge of law/regulations related to medical equipment.
Working knowledge of lab equipment/instruments.
Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
Minimum one (1) year of supervisory experience.
