Job Summary | This Extension Assistant position supports the recruitment and retention of youth from non-traditional 4-H enrollment populations. This position will require substantial travel and will report to State Specialist. Responsibilities include: • coordinate and organize schedules of direct programming, targeting youth with extreme barriers to participation including but not limited to parental incarceration, language barriers, direct interaction with the justice system, absolute poverty, and disenfranchisement • manage a programmatic budget assigned to order/purchase supplies as needed for programming • help with set-up, take down and clean up of programming • assist in the development of educational and promotional resources • maintain contact system with clientele • manage statistics and gather data for success stories The Extension Assistant will be expected to be knowledgeable of the philosophy, goals and objectives, policies and procedures of the Cooperative Extension Service. Other duties include Teaching, Recruitment and Marketing, including but not limited to working with State Specialist to implement innovated recruitment strategies that target audiences who are underrepresented in the State 4-H Program (using 4-H enrollment as a benchmark). |
