The National Category Insight Manager is a key member of the CPD Sales Category Management team, you will provide key strategic insights, solutions and analytics required to influence category management at a national level, focusing on new products and driving incremental distribution.  You will be a leader in enabling the evolution and execution of our category management efforts to achieve our Real Food vision.  Your passion for developing actionable category and shopper insights from both a national and key retailer perspective will unlock growth opportunities built on fact-based, measurable, holistic strategies that drive growth strategically through joint value creation for both the retailer and Sargento.*Your Story.*

*What You Do. *

* Reporting to the Director - Category Management, this person will serve as an industry leader within category management, applying sound understanding of current and emerging syndicated and shopper insight platforms to uncover opportunities to drive sustainable growth through:

* Efficient and effective ability to translate data and insights to category strategic initiatives and innovation pipeline development, delivering sustainable category growth plans across retailers.

* Leverage your analytical curiosity by extracting robust insights based on the retailer, category, occasion, shopper, and consumer; clearly articulating innovative selling stories that are actionable and mutually beneficial, driving incremental distribution strategies.

* Develop efficient and insightful reporting of syndicated and shopper data to unlock white space opportunities, monitor key competition, and drive innovation incremental distribution strategies.

* Formulate break-through, fact-based category development strategies that align with the overall business strategies and capitalize on market opportunities leveraging a full suite of category tools and resources.

* Working cross-functionally throughout the division, leverage insights from multiple data sources to ensure category strategies influence actions to drive strategic category growth.  Proactively develop and manage national and key account category and shopper/consumer insights, drive key brand strategies, exceed customer expectations, and ensure the success of the category.

* Be a leader in developing strong analytical competencies and fact-based selling skills through training, implementation of analytical tools and executing training which convert value-added insights into selling propositions.  Engage both internal and external partners for their expertise.

* Leverage your story-telling abilities along with data, insights, and shopper intelligence to influence long-term category management plans strategic objectives, align to category strategies, and drive sales. 

* Support the strategic and operational planning phases throughout the year with data and insights to drive long-term strategies and goals. 

* Key contributor for CPD headquarter project work as assigned by the Director - Category Management.

* Cultivate multiple internal and external relationships across customers and within Sargento and our agency resources to elevate category management. 

* Projected travel 15-20% of the time.

*Your Education and Experience.*

* Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university

* Five plus years CPG industry experience.

* Prior category captaincy or advisory experience required.

* Proficiency in Luminate, Nielsen, and/or Circana databases required.

* Experience with leveraging insights to drive influence is required.

* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

* Project Management experience strongly preferred.
