Job Description:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce's client, a leading Family Office and Asset Manager in New York, NY, is seeking a Controller/Director of Accounting to lead the accounting, reporting, and finance functions of its fund businesses. This is a family office and asset manager that has a +80 year track record. The client is experiencing a significant growth phase and its current Director is retiring. This role will have line of sight on becoming the CFO of this business. For leaders who want stability, a long-term home, but also dynamic growth, this is a great role for you to pursue.

In this role, you will oversee these functions:

• Fund administration, including managing and collaborating with external fund administrators


• Cash management


• Audit support


• Performance reporting


• Building systems, policies, procedures, infrastructure, and a team to support a major growth phase for the company (assets and funds)


• Supporting operational due diligence including working closely with outside investors (other family offices, foundations, pensions, asset allocators and advisory/consulting businesses)


• Managing a current team of 2, and building the team to support fund and asset growth

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Advanced degree a plus


• CPA


• Prior experience in large public accounting/audit firm


• Big 4 experience a plus


• A minimum of 10 years of experience


• Experience with family offices, funds, and investment partnerships


• Experience with Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) and Specialized Investment Funds (SIFs) a plus


• Experience leading accounting, reporting, finance functions of a multi entity fund company a plus

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
