Job Summary



Responsible for the management of quality patient and staff including internal and external customers within their designated scope of responsibility.



Minimum Job Requirements




  • BSN degree from an accredited School of Nursing.



  • RN licensure within the State of Florida in good standing prior to expiration throughout employment.



  • Three years of RN experience required.



  • CPR: American Heart Healthcare Provider - must maintain active and in good standing throughout employment.



  • PALS within 1 year of hire and in good standing prior to expiration throughout employment


ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:


  • Responsible for the management (rounding) of nursing, Lab, and diagnostic staff to ensure quality patient care.

  • Addresses issues and concerns related to internal and external customers.  Proactively takes steps to eliminate and redirect areas of concern.

  • Coordinates with stakeholders such as multidisciplinary teams, and internal and external customers to create work relationships that drive performance and quality outcomes in a timely and effective manner.

  • Develop educational and communication plans and programs.  Trains staff in SOPs and values. Initiate career development to ensure employee engagement and retention goals are achieved.

  • Actively collaborates with education teams to ensure participation in skills labs, manages sessions, and ensures quality nursing care.

  • Maintains a comprehensive staffing plan/model that is aligned with budget and key quality indicators. Monitors cost containment while enhancing revenue streams to meet the fiscal goals according to policies and procedures.

  • Oversees and manages clinical and service excellence indicators; intervenes as necessary according to policy and guidelines.

  • Monitors staff compliance with quality standards, chart reviews, hand hygiene, clean sweeps, MRI sedation observation, and compliance metrics

  • Serves as part of the development team responsible for the creation and design of new centers.

  • Oversees and supervises daily operations; reacting effectively to unplanned circumstances, demands, and challenges of respective areas of responsibility; assuring quality services and patient directed care.

  • Performs management duties such as collecting, analyzing, and reporting data pertinent to each department.  Creating action plans relative to “better is always possible”.

  • Establishes effective communication to keep staff updated by utilizing various methods including in-person meetings, huddles, teleconferences, robotic technology, emails, phone calls, and rounding.

  • Accountable for interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new staff.  Supervises staff and conducts annual reviews within established guidelines and scope of responsibilities.

  • Manages procedures including payroll, time/attendance, and progressive disciplinary action in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Develop budget, management of budget line items, creates variance reports, perform budget analysis, and reporting/researching information for monthly operation review.  Implements action plans when needed.  


  • Accountable to oversee manpower per unit of service, supplies, and hours worked.  Responsible for and promotes/practices cost containment.



Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:


  • 2 years of pediatric nursing including charge nursing preferred.

  • Ability to solve department issues and maintain clinical practices.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Competent in nursing skills required for designated scope of responsibility.

  • Strong customer service, problem solving, critical thinking, time management, and conflict resolution skills.

  • Ability to positively influence, hold self, and others accountable.

  • Able to lead ancillary departments within the UCCs including MRI, Radiology, Laboratory and Ultrasound teams.

  • Ability to effectively be the liaison with Physicians and teams.

  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary team and lead a team to achieve business results.

  • Ability to provide direction, coaching, and mentor staff; redirect unacceptable behaviors.
