***Note: this role is First Shift, 6am to 3pm, Mon-Fri, with some overtime required as business demands***

JOB SUMMARY

Working under general supervision, plans, maps, sequences and performs assembly of complex electrical, mechanical and pneumatic robotic equipment from verbal and written instructions. Diagnose and resolve field issues on installed machines to restore customer operation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings for mechanical, sheet metal, electrical and controls assembly.

  • Review released parts against engineering documentation to ensure all parts are present and accurate to requirements prior to commencing machine build or other operations.

  • Accurately and effectively use best practices to assemble robotic automation machines according to documentation.

  • Support engineering processes with effective, actionable feedback as required to ensure operational excellence.

  • Diagnose technical issues with mechanical assembly, computer control, sensors, actuators and other robotic equipment toward effective issue resolution and feedback for future issue prevention.

  • Correct technical issues with machines, whether mechanical, electrical, programmatic or sensor driven.

  • Support Machine Assembly process with identifying and developing best practice input to continuously improve the assembly and field service processes.

  • Install completed machines in customer facilities and support customer requirements with integration into customer processes as needed, both singly and with other technicians.

  • Provide photographic and written documentation to support technical literature for customer operation, for internal engineering support and for technician training.

  • Keeps accurate records of all activities performed on each machine.

  • Based on engineering documentation and manufacturer’s recommendations prepare spare parts lists and preventive maintenance recommendations for customer operation.

  • Comply with all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.

  • Perform other assigned responsibilities from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company processes and activities and the requirements of the department/position.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
 


  • Read and understand assembly drawings and schematics.

  • Use advanced trades mathematics with engineering drawings, schematics, specifications and charts.

  • Use precision measuring instruments to verify manufactured dimensions and to assemble critical parts in proper locations.

  • Use good engineering/technical judgment when required to accurately assemble machines and install sub-assemblies in optimal configurations.

  • Understand and use PLC (programmable logic controllers) logic ladders to diagnose and trace operating errors in machines and resolve, toward operational success.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS


  • Associate degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent discipline preferred.

  • Five (5) years prior work experience in electro-mechanical automated/robotic equipment in a manufacturing/testing environment required with build, repair, test, install and maintenance experience highly preferred.

  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.

Experience must include:


  • Electronics assembly, robotics and circuit knowledge

  • Use of schematics, process flows, including flow charts and written processes.

  • Machining and/or field service technician experience with capital equipment highly preferred

  • Capital equipment commissioning experience highly preferred

  • Reading, writing and math skills.

  • Working Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Jabil system.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build and maintain teams.

The hourly pay range for this role is $23.54 - $42.38. Job-related, non-discriminatory factors used to determine the actual offered rate include qualifications and experience, education (if requirement noted above), geographic location, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
