The Director of Faculty Advancement in Teaching Excellence is a pivotal figure within the QILT team, dedicated to supporting faculty and enhancing the overall teaching experience at Quinnipiac University. This full-time administrative role focuses on elevating faculty development, fostering pedagogical innovation, and enhancing the integration of technology in teaching across various modalities. While the position does not entail teaching responsibilities, interested candidates may have the opportunity to teach up to twice a year, subject to departmental needs. This role is instrumental in propelling the university toward teaching excellence and aligning with Quinnipiac's vision as the University of the Future.

Strategic Leadership in Teaching Excellence: Guide QILT initiatives to promote inclusive learning and innovative educational strategies.
Faculty Development and Support: Develop and oversee comprehensive faculty development programs, supporting effective and innovative teaching methodologies.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Engagement: Foster collaboration within QILT and across academic departments to enhance interdisciplinary teaching and learning.
Research and Scholarship Advocacy: Support faculty engagement in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) to enhance teaching outcomes.
Policy Development within QILT Framework: Assist in developing and implementing university-wide teaching and learning policies.
Program Assessment and Data-Driven Improvement: Utilize data to assess and enhance the effectiveness of teaching initiatives and faculty development programs.
Online and Blended Learning Development: Collaborate to improve online and blended learning offerings in alignment with university strategies.
Learning Spaces Design: Work with university stakeholders to envision and create learning spaces that support innovative teaching practices.
Professional Development Workshops and Seminars: Facilitate various faculty development events, including workshops and seminars.
Community Building and Advocacy: Cultivate a vibrant community of faculty practice, encouraging collaboration and advocacy for teaching excellence.
Resource Development: Lead in creating teaching resources for various platforms including the QILT newsletter, website, and other outlets.
Technology Integration: Lead in connecting pedagogy to emerging educational technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
Supervision of Key Initiatives: Oversee initiatives such as the Writing and the Critical Thinking (QUWACT), the Inclusive Excellence in Teaching Lab (IETL), and embedded academic student support roles distributed in schools
Education Requirements:
Master's degree required
Terminal degree in Education, Learning Sciences, or a related discipline preferred
Qualifications:
10+ years of extensive experience in faculty development and innovative teaching
Administrative Experience: A minimum of 8-10 years in higher education, with notable achievements in faculty development, teaching and learning advancement, and a strong background in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL)

Research and Scholarship in Teaching and Learning: Strong background in SoTL and advocacy for research in teaching methodologies.
Policy Development and Implementation: Skills in contributing to the formulation and implementation of educational policies.
Program Evaluation and Data Analysis: Competency in assessing educational programs and utilizing data for continuous improvement.
Learning Space Design and Technology Integration: Experience in designing learning spaces and integrating educational technologies effectively.
Community Building and Networking: Ability to foster a community of practice and maintain strong academic and industry relationships.
Resource Development and Management: Skills in developing diverse teaching and learning resources, including digital platforms.
Emerging Trends in Higher Education: Knowledgeable about emerging trends and best practices in higher education.
Experienced Teacher: At least 5-7 years teaching experience in higher education setting.
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and a commitment to diversity and inclusion
