What you will do

This position exists within the Connected Services Business Unit of Clarios and will report to the VPGM of Connected Services.  

The Business Development Manager will be a key member of the Connected Services leadership team, reporting to the VPGM of Connected Services.  In this position, you’ll have a unique opportunity to join a newly created business unit and shape solutions for the fast-evolving low voltage space.

The ideal candidate will be pivotal in driving the growth of our recurring service offerings and play a crucial role in the expansion of our commercial team. This position requires a forward-thinking professional who is adept at identifying new market opportunities and building strong customer relationships. Additionally, the business development manager will collaborate closely with Global Customer & Technology teams to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of all Connected Services product initiatives globally.

How you will do it


  • Develop and implement strategies for new service offerings, focusing on long-term recurring revenue models.

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including market analysis and competitive landscape.

  • Forge and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally.

  • Collaborate with product development teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and market trends.

  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market plans for connected services.

  • Provide insights and feedback to the leadership team to inform strategic decisions.

  • Drive the recruitment and development of a high-performing commercial team, to selling and delivering connected services.

  • Equip the team the necessary tools and training to effectively sell connected services.

  • Develop sales targets and incentive programs to drive performance and revenue growth.

  • Monitor and report on the performance of business development activities, adjusting strategies as needed.

  • Advocate for customer requirements within Clarios to ensure service offerings are customer-focused and competitive.

What we look for


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in business development, preferably in the technology or automotive industry.

  • Proven track record of developing and growing new business lines, particularly with recurring revenue models.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into actionable plans.

  • Capable of managing a hybrid workforce and cultivating a highly engaged team.

  • Strong presence to interface with stakeholders, partners, and customers, articulating ideas clearly.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate effectively across teams to influence decision making.

  • Excellent team-building abilities, with experience in managing diverse teams.

  • Exceptional negotiation skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
