Visiting Lecturer – Cultivating the Sociological Imagination

The Department of Sociology at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for multiple Visiting Lecturer positions. Visiting Lecturers will teach 3 + 3 undergraduate courses over the Fall and Spring terms of the 2024-2025 academic year. The Fall semester begins on 26 August. The online application must include the following: a cover letter that presents your expertise, teaching experience, and pedagogical approaches; a CV; a 15-pp. portfolio featuring evidence of effective undergraduate teaching (may include syllabus excerpts and other course materials as well as results from student surveys and peer evaluations); and a brief description of how your teaching demonstrates a commitment to diversity and inclusion. Also include the names and contact information of three professional references, who will be notified with instructions on how to submit letters.

Please apply online at Job Search (taleo.net). Review of applications will begin on 15 May 2024 and will continue until the positions are filled. To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 31 May 2024. The Sociology Department's contact e-mail address is nit72@pitt.edu.
