Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Transportation has an exciting opportunity for an accounting or business student to join our team and work with our Controller division.

Job Duties:
• Perform indirect cost rate reviews/risk assessments of rates submitted by consultants, local public agencies, and Metropolitan Planning Organizations.
• Perform reviews of railroad labor/equipment billing rate calculations and supporting documentation.
• Perform final cost reviews/risk assessments of actual billings submitted by railroads, utilities, consultants, and local governmental units for reimbursement eligibility.
• Participate in the 2 CFR 200 subrecipient audit monitoring process.
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Must be a three-fourths time student in good standing majoring in a discipline or field related to the work to be assigned. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications: Student majoring in Accounting or Business Administration, or the equivalent, with at least 12 semester hours of accounting and auditing. Governmental or compliance auditing experience would be helpful.
Other: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide independent authorized transportation is required. Applicants must be at least a three fourths time student and be able to work at least 10 hours a week when classes are in session. Temporary full-time employment may be available during scheduled school breaks. Employment up to 2080 hours or four years, whichever comes first. If employed to 2080 hours, student must take a 30-day break before returning to work. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
