The Role:

Our site in Aurora is seeking a Process Reliability Engineer to join our team. If hired into this role, your responsibility will be to ensure the seamless operation and reliability of our manufacturing equipment. Your expertise will be vital in providing technical support, coordinating plant trials, and contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes. With a focus on safety, efficiency, and innovation, you will collaborate with process engineers and the maintenance team to enhance our production capabilities.

The position is located at our Aurora, IL campus and reports to the Sr Maintenance Manager. We operate a state-of-the-art facility that runs three shifts five days a week, and we are committed to the safety and well-being of our employees and the environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Act as a subject matter expert for reliability, by identifying and managing risks that can disrupt business operations and affect reliability. Drive improvements to asset utilization and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

  • Act as a subject matter expert for our chemical addition systems by monitoring and assuring stable performance of these systems. Perform periodic adjustments, yearly accuracy testing, and support all other related maintenance activities. Identify opportunities and run associated projects to improve overall system design.

  • Lead small- to medium-scale capital and continuous improvement (CI) projects from inception through completion. Duties in project management will include budgeting, project definition, utilizing front end loading (FEL), securing funding, following through to commissioning/start up, providing project status updates, managing and completing all aspects of commissioning, and for project closure/lessons learned

  • Support site maintenance activities by developing and refining preventive and reactive maintenance procedures and spare parts inventory processes using tools like SAP-PM, Parsable, SharePoint, and Reliance.

  • Manage and produce engineering drawings (P&IDs, electrical schematics, etc.) and documentation (equipment specifications, maintenance repair procedures) using AutoCAD and similar tools.

  • Participate in Environmental, Health, and Safety projects focusing on process safety management, ergonomic improvements, and compliance with safety standards. Support and lead EHS teams as needed.

  • Stay informed of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continually enhance your knowledge and the company's manufacturing capabilities.

  • Provide technical support as needed for process equipment failures.

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

  • 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the chemical industry

  • Excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills

  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance, failure analysis, risk management, loss elimination and lifecycle asset management.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage timelines, and achieve results

  • Leadership skills with a focus on team collaboration and solution-oriented approaches

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations in a manufacturing context

  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs

Outstanding Candidates Will Have:

  • Knowledge of batch manufacturing, piping systems, dispersion and separation process equipment, utility systems, and PLC operation.

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite Applications, ERP systems (SAP) and AutoCAD; experience with MS Project and SharePoint is beneficial.
