Job Description:

Summary:


Responsible for design, implementation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of LAN components and applications.


 


Experience:


Exchange, Windows, Active Directory, VMware, 2nd & 3rd level Helpdesk support and troubleshooting.


 


Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Documents and communicates activities and deliverables of project plan to user management and IT.
- Utilizes tools creatively to diagnose and resolve unusual/undefined problems.
- Defines system back-up/restore procedures.
- Analyzes and synthesizes information and identifies alternatives.


 


Qualifications: 


Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in a related discipline.
- 3-5 years experience in the implementation and support of local area networks or microcomputer-based systems with a minimum of 1 year experience in LAN/system design; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive knowledge of network, voice, data, and video architecture and its components
- Working knowledge of the organization's directions and standards for developing LAN based applications
- Considerable skill in the design, implementation, maintenance and day-to-day operation of the LAN
- Working knowledge of the practices, guidelines, and procedures for planning, implementing, and monitoring local software infrastructure
- Working knowledge of the concepts involved with multi-segment LAN and the support of complex/integrated software
- Skill in the design, implementation, maintenance and day-to-day operation of the LAN
- Skill in basic diagnostic techniques and corrective actions to resolve day-to-day connectivity problems
- Skill in implementing and monitoring critical network pipelines, router technologies and services
- Skill in evaluating client technical environments to determine existing capacity and functionality or to develop prototype configuration for new and test environments
- Skill in successfully addressing and resolving problems with vendor personnel on behalf of the client or company
- Skill in maintaining, upgrading and monitoring a product on the LAN and related infrastructure
- Skill in understanding and focusing on the clients' needs and goals, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients
- Skill in reviewing benchmarking and professional information to identify best practices and industry standards that may benefit the company
- Ability to champion cross-functional process improvement efforts and leverage innovations across projects
- Ability to load and configure operating and application software for large projects involving multiple product families (e.g., voice, data, LAN) and multiple systems
- Ability to install new business applications to a large/complex environment
- Ability to analyze information and formulate conclusions and recommendations
- Ability to identify causes and propose recommendations to resolve cross-application and cross-platform problems
- Ability to identify and resolve complex process inefficiencies
- Ability to estimate, plan, manage, and communicate activities/deliverables of a mid-size project plan (i.e., a plan that affects a single system or product family and uses multiple resources)
- Ability to identify and document requirements for implementation or configuration modification
- Ability to plan and execute a software platform change with minimal disruption in service to clients
- Ability to implement standards and improve processes
- Ability to demonstrate teamwork, manage conflict, and act with integrity and respect for others
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, vendors, clients and public
