ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT AND ADMINISTRATION - Center for the Study of Drug Development at Tufts University

Job Description:

Tufts CSDD is an independent, academic, multi-disciplinary non-profit research group at Tufts University. Located at the Tufts University Medical School campus in downtown Boston, Tufts CSDD conducts research on drug development trends and provides strategic information to help drug developers, regulators, and policy makers improve the quality and efficiency of pharmaceutical development, review, and utilization.

Primary duties of this position include:

  • Responsible for the strategic development and tactical implementation of print and web-based marketing initiatives;
  • Leading the development and recruitment of new Tufts CSDD sponsors and maintaining existing relationships;
  • Responsible for the growth and maintenance of Tufts CSDD Impact Report subscriptions and other publications;
  • Managing a staff of three administrative employees and Tufts CSDD's business/administrative/financial operations;
  • Managing consultants and outside vendors on various Tufts CSDD initiatives;
  • Directing, establishing, and implementing standard operating procedures, new policies and a more systematic approach to track finances, new revenue streams and overall improvement of the efficiency of the Center's operations;
  • Developing, coordinating, and implementing Tufts CSDD's professional development courses, and identifying new business opportunities for Tufts CSDD.

Basic Requirements: Bachelors degree with at least 7 years of related experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Preferred Qualifications: Proven track record in establishing and maintaining relationships. Some sales background helpful. Experience in marketing and business operations. Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and prior work experience in an academic setting preferred. Ability to work independently and lead as part of a team. Outstanding customer service skills, excellent communication skills, and strong writing skills. Detail oriented and able to meet deadlines.
