As a Software Engineer, you will have a background in maintaining and enhancing automated test scripts and creating and executing test procedures to support development, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing. You will design and write automated test plans and procedures, analyze test results, and develop and review code as necessary. In addition, you will document bugs in JIRA and provide test reports.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain small-scale (less than 3 months) solutions tailored to meet specific customer requirements in mission­approved enterprise IT environments that adhere to rigorous organizational standards.
  • Implement software adaptive maintenance and execute code management strategies.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to guide organizational best practices.
  • Maintain JEMA, or like systems, functional components in the JEMA, or like systems, visual programming environment.
  • Adaptive maintenance and operational testing relevant technologies for applicability, feasibility, and utility against identified by stakeholder requirements.
  • Maintain or enhance system integrations via API, RESTful services, and other methods to enable ME/M2M interactions.
  • Maintain testbeds to support operational scenarios, demonstrations, training, functional testing, and experiments specified by the government.
  • Provide technical expertise during project planning and execution of adaptive maintenance during production and implementation.
  • Work with NGA Integrate Program Offices.
  • Provide support for emerging requirements as assigned by the government.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in common geospatial software applications and tools, such as Java, Python, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, Git, MongoDB, Jira, CLI, Graph DB, Ruby, NodeJS, C, C++, PostGIS.
  • This opportunity offers positions requiring different experience levels with the above required skills. Though a minimum of a Bachelors degree is preferred, relevant work or military experience as well as professional presentations/publications can be used to meet the qualifications for these positions.
